The job

As a Junior Developer, you will work closely with experienced ServiceNow consultants and developers. You will gradually learn the ServiceNow platform while participating in real customer projects.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and customization of applications on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Learn how to configure forms, workflows, business rules and automations.
  • Develop and maintain features using JavaScript and ServiceNow development best practices.
  • Support the integration of ServiceNow with third-party applications through REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, debugging and resolving technical issues.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing and deployments.
  • Contribute to improving business processes through automation.
  • Collaborate with consultants and customers to understand functional requirements.
  • Document developments, technical solutions and best practices.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and complete the ServiceNow CSA and CAD certifications.

How do you qualify for this position?

Must have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Informatics, Software Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Passionate about software development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Basic understanding of Git or other version control systems.
  • Good communication skills in English and Dutch and/or French.
  • Curious, eager to learn and motivated to become a ServiceNow Developer.
  • Team player with a proactive mindset.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Java, C#, Python, PHP or Node.js.
  • Experience with React, Angular or Vue.js.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows environments.
  • Personal, academic or internship projects.
  • Knowledge of generative AI tools and prompting techniques, or willingness to develop expertise in leveraging AI for software development and IT operations.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow is a plus, but not required.
