System Engineer: Datacenter Operations

The job

We are looking for motivated system engineer with a focus on Datacenter Operations H to join our team as we are expanding to serve more customers.

As a System Engineer, you will work with our customers in project mode. Your role is to install, configure, manage, and monitor Dell & VMware datacenter solutions. Together with the Project Manager and the other system engineers you look for the best approach for the migration of the Datacenter environments for our customers.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • After the initial ServiceNow platform admin training and certification (4 weeks) you will be in charge of building and customizing enterprise application.
  • You will work directly with our customers (process owner, key business users, analyst).
  • You will need to have full understanding of the business flow and the requirements before starting the configuration.
  • We expect you to challenge what is asked and take ownership.
  • As our ServiceNow team grows, you will have more responsibility like becoming subject matter expert, managing customer project or guiding newly hired developers.
  • Make ServiceNow part of your DNA and act as a true ServiceNow Ambassador.

You will work in an existing team of ServiceNow enthusiasts. By working closely with the team, you will have the opportunity to develop new digital workflows, enjoy an enriching work experience, and discover the endless possibilities that this platform can offer! You will learn how ServiceNow streamlines the work throughout an organization, the mobile part also plays a key role in our projects. You will be involved in configuring the Now Platform and developing applications for our customers. 

How do you qualify for this position?

  • You will need the following skills:

    • Speak fluently English,Dutch and/or French (written and spoken)
    • Bachelor in IT, or equivalent by experience.
    • Methodical, organized and client oriented.
    • Work in a team as well as independently
    • Take the client’s needs into consideration and you are a good communicator.
    • You are skilled in creating and enhancing high quality rated as-build documentation, implementation procedures and processes.
    • A real problem solver and you have an eye for details.
    • Stress resistant and you are not afraid of a fast-paced environment.

     

    You have the following technical knowledge:

    • A broad foundation of knowledge of multiple technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server, Azure, Server virtualization, Veeam, Servers & Storage, Networking,…
    • In-depth knowledge of various servers and storage solution like Dell Poweredge servers, Dell storage solution, VMware vSphere, Vmware HCI, Veeam Backup & Replication, …
    • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell or any other scripting language is highly desirable
    • Understanding of ITIL concepts like incident management, change management, problem management, etc. 

     

    Knowledge of network switching: TCP/IP, subnet calculations, VLAN & load balancing concepts. CCNA certification is a plus.

  • As a System Engineer – Datacenter Operations, your responsibilities will include:

    • Datacenter operations
    • Incident and service request handling in accordance with our internal procedures & processes
    • Implementation of datacenter projects for the client within the negotiated scope taking into consideration technical possibilities, respecting agreed milestones and deadlines
    • Remaining up to date with technology evolutions and making sure your knowledge remains ahead of the curve
    • Gain experience, become an expert in your field and guide your colleagues with their complex technical questions
    • Ownership for the client relationship: you are recognized by the client as a business partner, from whom to seek advise
    • Support the sales team by contributing to the pre-sales process
    • Technical/technological discussions with the clients
    • Be part of our 24×7 support team
